Registered Nurse Clinical Practicum Goals and Objectives
My first goal in the participation on the practicum is to develop and advance the fundamental clinical skills needed to offer efficient and effective empowerment for the people with disabilities to help them attain their maximum level of physical, social, and emotional maturity. Achieving this will involve taking into account the important areas, such as examining the social, emotional, and physical issues affecting the individuals with disabilities, analyzing the needs of this population, taking into account the communication strategies applied in conversing with them, and explaining to the people with disabilities the need to achieve their maturity (Smolowitz et al. 131).
SMART Objectives for Goal One
Various objectives have to be accomplished to achieve the goal and realize the important areas above.
My SMART objective one is that I will lead a seminar with 20% of the people with disabilities concerning the social, emotional, and physical issues that affect them in the selected community where these people live by the end of 20 hours of the practicum.
My SMART objective two is that I will apply ten effective communication strategies to 25% of persons with disabilities when communicating with them by the end of 15 hours of the practicum.
My SMART objective three will be to explain to 80% of individuals with disabilities living in the selected community the need to attain their maturity after 40 hours of the practicum.
My SMART objective four is that I will describe to 50% of the persons with disabilities in the selected community the need to attain their maturity to facilitate their community involvement after 30 hours of the practicum.
